I chase goals, not people.

Everywhere you look, people are getting engage or married. Your friends are having kids and/or settling down; some of them are still playing around waiting for someone to love them back or had an unresolved issues from the past.

When I left Florida and resided to Philippines, I wasn’t sure what I really wanted. My emotions are unstable and my mind are scattered somewhere else. All I care was go back to school, get my degree, be happy and forget. Thus, I never thought that letting go was easy, I wasn’t ready to let go of everything..

And here is the thing… In order to let go: “YOU HAVE TO FACE YOUR OWN DEMON”.

A hard thing to achieve I must say, as we are often afraid of the unknown. Walking away from a familiar place or a face, often leads to painful memories and heartaches. However, those memories will never be forgotten, yet those painful feelings from the past will heal in time. Being in that experiences, it will help you evolve and nurture those life lessons. Chasing the old habits, chasing people will give you toxic and unhealthy lifestyle.

Reminiscing the past while writing my story made me realized how far I made it… stronger, reserved and in a better place!

If you are reading this and you are in difficult situation: Remember, I know how you feel. I’ve been there. I chased people.. I used to begged my ex-boyfriends to be with me, I used to ask validations for my own happiness. The sad truth is… “Being happy is a very personal thing. And it has nothing to do with anyone else but YOURSELF.”

Nobody is perfect. We make mistakes. I make mistakes. We fall. We get up. We learn and we live. It’s you against yourself!

If you do that, you’re in control of your life. If you don’t, life controls you.

Replace those heartaches and painful memories to somewhere else. Focus on your goals. Listen to your heart and find your happiness. Don’t compare your journey to anyone else’s, FOCUS ON YOU!

Let your life revolve around your goals and dreams, not people. Unless they are helping you.

3 Things you MUST Learn About Yourself:

  1. Accept the truth.
  2. Learn from the experience.
  3. Change – for you to grow and set yourself free.

With Love,

April Mae ❤
